Former Hills Shire Mayor and Mechanical Engineer, Dr Peter Gangemi, has been selected as the Liberal candidate for Castle Hill.

Peter served as a Councillor on The Hills Shire Council for 12 years, including three as the Mayor, and has lived locally for almost 40 years – raising his two kids in the Hills. He volunteers as a Board Member for the Lisa Harnum Foundation and Alive 90.5 FM.

Dr Gangemi said he was humbled by the opportunity to continue fighting for his local community’s needs.
“As The Hills Shire Mayor it was my privilege to work every day on making lives of our residents better – from securing millions of dollars for crucial new infrastructure projects, to delivering local community amenities and sports fields, fixing our roads and supporting local groups with much needed funding.’

“This focus on helping people to build better lives has also been behind my work as the Strategic Engagement Manager at the Universities Admissions Centre, a not-for-profit, where my work helps more people to participate in higher education.”

“If elected, my focus will be on defending the family-friendly open space fabric of the Castle Hill community, which is under attack from the Minns Government. I will also prioritise the delivery of much needed support for local families and businesses – our community has never had it tougher, with Labor’s cost of living crisis leaving locals facing mounting piles of bills, and their quality of life has been falling further and further behind.

“A Sloane Liberal Government will ease the cost of living pressures, restore important support programs, invest in our hospitals, schools and transport, and make this the best place in the world to live and raise a family again.”
