An elected Dutton Liberal Government has committed $1 million to renew two of the most iconic community assets on the Northern Beaches – the Avalon and Bilgola Rockpools.
The Liberals will commit $500,000 to the renewal of each rockpool which will support the relocation of valves and ensure these treasured coastal assets remain safe, accessible, and enjoyable for generations to come.
Liberal candidate for Mackellar, James Brown, announced the commitment alongside Senator the Hon Jonathon Duniam, Shadow Minister for Environment and Shadow Minister for Fisheries and Forestry.
“Our rockpools are more than just places to swim – they are essential to the lifestyle we enjoy on the Beaches and must be preserved,” Mr Brown said.
“Every morning, locals gather here at these iconic pools, embracing the beauty and community spirit that defines us on the Beaches.”
“This commitment will protect and improve a much-loved space that will contribute to the wellbeing of our community for generations to come.”
Senator Duniam praised James Brown’s dedication to preserving community infrastructure, like the Avalon and Bilgola Rockpools, which connect people with the natural environment.
“James fought hard to secure this commitment and has the experience to continue to serve his community as their representative in the Federal Parliament,” Senator Duniam said.
This commitment is part of the Liberals’ plan to get Australia back on track.
