An elected Dutton Liberal Government will commit $100,000 to upgrade lighting at Coronation Park in Minto.
The upgrade will include the installation of LED lighting, with control systems to manage lighting effectively and efficiently, on the pathways around Coronation Park.
Liberal candidate for Macarthur, Binod Paudel, said Coronation Park was prioritised for a lighting upgrade given the high foot traffic it receives in the evening – especially during the week around football and netball training sessions.
“These upgrades will ensure that local families can go about their daily lives with the greater confidence about their personal safety,” Mr Paudel said.
“I have listened to our community and am pleased to be making this commitment which will encourage even more local families to enjoy our outdoor lifestyle.”
Shadow Minister for Home Affairs and Shadow Minister for Cyber Security, Senator James Paterson, said under a Dutton Liberal Government, the Minto community will be stronger, more secure and better supported to tackle crime.
“Getting Australia back on track means keeping Australia safe – safe for families, safe for businesses, and safe for communities,” Senator Paterson said.
"Projects delivered under the Safer Communities Fund will help protect local communities by ensuring they have appropriate security infrastructure in place such as CCTV cameras, alarm systems and security lighting."
The revitalised SCF will deliver grant funding to councils, schools, and local organisations to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour, enhance security around community spaces, and promote social cohesion.
This commitment is part of the Liberals’ plan to get Australia back on track.
