An elected Dutton Coalition Government has committed to delivering $1 million for the upgrade of the Canoon Road sporting facilities.
This commitment includes the redevelopment of five courts for netball and tennis, a new canteen, and upgrading the administration complex, BBQ facilities, changerooms, storage and spectator space.
Liberal Candidate for Bradfield, Gisele Kapterian, said the Canoon Road Recreation Area hosts amazing contests every week of the netball season.
“Our community deserves to have high quality facilities, which can only be delivered by a Dutton Coalition Government. This upgrade, funded jointly with the Ku-ring-gai Netball Association, will help deliver an amazing gameday experience for both players and supporters,” Ms Kapterian said.
“Sport is such an important part of life and I am delighted that my advocacy – with full support from the KRG Netball Association and the local community – has delivered this funding,” Ms Kapterian said.
“The strong economic management of a Dutton Coalition Government will mean that we can invest in important local projects and facilities, like the Canoon Road courts.”
Ku-ring-gai Netball Association President, Rodney Jackson, said this funding to upgrade Canoon Road will give the locals better quality facilities and help boost participation.
“Every weekend our courts are filled with passionate players, coaches and supporters of all ages, and with this funding and support from Gisele we will be able to give them top quality netball experience,” Mr Jackson said.
“This funding commitment is a great example of the focus that a Dutton Coalition Government will have on getting Bradfield back on track,” said Ms Kapterian..
