Liberal candidate for Gilmore, Andrew Constance, announced that a Dutton Government will deliver up to $4.96 million for a much needed upgrade to the iconic Gerringong Golf Club.
Gerringong Golf Club is a not-for-profit, community-owned and volunteer run organisation and one of the leading tourist destinations on the South Coast, that has more than 500 members and hosts more than 20,000 visitors annually.
“If elected, the Dutton Liberal Government will provide up to $4.95 million to deliver the project in-full, and will include essential improvements to facilities for women, accessibility infrastructure for people with disabilities, and safer access for children,” Mr Constance said.
Andrew Constance said the project has been approved for development by the Kiama Municipal Council and was shovel ready.
“This project will also provide work for our local construction businesses on a project the whole community will benefit from. The Gerringong Golf Club works with local community organisations, such as the Lions Club, Rotary, the Sam Matters Foundation and the Gerringong Branch of the Children's medical Research Institute.”
“I’m standing up for this region and fighting for real commitments to build up our community, tourism and economic infrastructure - like this commitment for the Gerringong Golf Club.”
“I want to thank the local volunteers for their hard work and advocacy for the future of the Gerringong Golf Club that will only drive more opportunities for our community,” said Mr Constance. “This is a big win for the South Coast, and is part of the Liberal’s plan to get Gilmore back on track.”
