The Minns Labor Government’s next step in their proposal to introduce an emergency services tax cannot cost NSW families more than they’re already paying.
Since the Minns Labor Government came to power, taxes have increased by more than 30% and a new emergency services tax threatens to make life even tougher for families across NSW who are already struggling with Labor’s cost of living crisis.
Prior to the last election, Chris Minns and Labor promised no new taxes, yet it seems like Labor Treasurer Daniel Mookhey will break that promise by imposing a new forever tax on every home across New South Wales.
Shadow Treasurer, Scott Farlow, said that the Minns Labor Government can’t be trusted when it comes to taxes and costs for NSW families.
"Labor went to the last election saying they wouldn’t introduce any new taxes, but from day one they set about designing new taxes on every home in New South Wales," Mr Farlow said.
"One of their first acts on being elected was to introduce a tax on every new home with the introduction of their failed housing and productivity contribution that has raised the price of new homes and failed to meet their revenue expectations, leading to a $347 million write-down in the last half-yearly review.”
