Former NSW Deputy Police Commissioner and not-for-profit CEO, Mick Willing APM, will be standing as the Liberal candidate for Camden at the 2027 NSW Election as part of Kellie Sloane’s team.
The father of two has spent his life serving the NSW community, after almost 32 years as a police officer, including as our longest serving Homicide Squad Commander and Assistant Commissioner in charge of counter-terrorism and special tactics.
Mick also led the NSW 2019/2022 bushfire recovery effort as the State Recovery Coordinator, and is currently CEO of Fortem, a not-for-profit focused on supporting first responders and their families.
“I have committed my life to public service and helping people, so this is a natural next step which will allow me to champion this incredible community,” Mr Willing said. “I am very excited to be part of the NSW Liberal team, under the leadership of Kellie Sloane, a dedicated leader who I deeply admire.”
“Labor has let Camden down, and this region deserves better when it comes to the infrastructure we desperately need and cost of living pressures.”
“With deep experience keeping communities safe through my operational, counterterrorism and national intelligence roles, I am looking forward to making a contribution to a better future for NSW.”
NSW Liberal Leader, Kellie Sloane, said Mick Willing is an impressive addition to the Liberal team and will fight to ensure Camden gets its fair share of investment.
“Mick is a man of integrity who has shown extraordinary leadership, navigating our state during times of crisis and keeping people safe. The people of Camden will be served well by him,” Ms Sloane said.
“I have no doubt Mick will bring the same commitment he had to solving crime in fighting for the people of Camden.”
