Through decades of work advancing the understanding and treatment of melanoma, he helped transform the lives of patients in Australia and around the world.
Faced with a devastating diagnosis, he met it with the same courage, generosity and determination that defined his career, sharing his journey openly in the hope it would help others.
Australia has lost a remarkable scientist, doctor and human being. His legacy will live on through the breakthroughs he helped pioneer, the lives he touched, and the hope he gave to so many.
My thoughts are with his wife Katie, their children, family, friends and colleagues.
