Senior Executive Gisele Kapterian has been preselected as the Liberal candidate for Bradfield, kicking off the campaign to give the local community a candidate who can deliver.
Gisele is the daughter of migrant parents, was born at Royal North Shore Hospital and raised in North Willoughby, the same suburb she currently lives in. Obtaining an Arts/Law degree with honours from Macquarie University, she went on to receive a Commonwealth Trust Scholarship to study law at the University of Cambridge.
After completing an internship at the World Trade Organization, Gisele would go on to work as an international trade lawyer in Geneva and London. Having served as an adviser to three federal cabinet ministers, including former Foreign Minister Julie Bishop, she is now a senior executive at a global technology company, focusing on helping governments deliver services more effectively through technology.
Gisele said they were very humbled to have been given this opportunity to follow in the footsteps of the retiring Member, Paul Fletcher.
“Paul has served this community with distinction for 15 years, and has been a diligent and determined fighter for the needs of the people of Bradfield – no problem was ever too difficult or concern too small for Paul to roll up his sleeves and go into bat for local residents,” said Ms Kapterian. ”Paul has embodied the ethos of local service and national leadership”.
“I am running to ensure that Bradfield households and small businesses have a strong voice in Parliament that can deliver. There is a lot at stake for our community at the coming election, because another three years of Albanese Labor Government will decimate family budgets, set new records for business closures and their Budget mismanagement will mean more cuts to our services and infrastructure.
“Households are incredibly stressed about paying off their post-Christmas credit card bill, and this Labor Government only keeps adding to their struggles,” Ms Kapterian said.
“Labor’s out-of-control inflationary spending, and billions of dollars in unbudgeted public service raises, is leaving our households and small businesses struggling to pay the skyrocketing mortgages, rent, energy and insurance bills.”
“Prime Minister Albanese had promised us cheaper mortgages, but instead the interest bill for a typical mortgage has risen $50,000 since the election. And he promised us that by 2025, household energy bills would be reduced by $275 – instead we’re paying hundreds more.”
“The only way we can get the economy and our country back on track is by putting an end to Labor’s cost of living spiral with a change of government.”.
“The Bradfield electorate needs a representative who can have a real impact for our community needs,” said Ms Kapterian. “As part of the Liberal team, I will fight for local families, assist small and family businesses and deliver investment for the services and infrastructure that our community needs. I will be a strong and effective voice in a better government that delivers for Bradfield.”
“Only the Liberals are focused on key issues like housing, supporting small businesses and fighting inflation, that will make lives easier for people across our community – and only by electing the Liberal candidate we’ll be able to put an end to the Albanese Labor Government’s economic vandalism.”
