An elected Dutton Liberal Government will commit $4.5 million for the construction of a new clubhouse at Blackman Park in Lane Cove West.
Blackman Park is home to the Lane Cove Football Club and the Lane Cove Cats AFL Club, during winter as well as the Lane Cove Cricket Club and Lane Cove Rugby 7s during summer.
The new clubhouse will include changerooms and amenities as well as spaces adequate for meetings, activities and playgroups, throughout the week.
Liberal candidate for Bennelong, Scott Yung, said this commitment is an investment in the success of Lane Cove’s next generation of sporting stars.
“Blackman Park is already the home of sport in Lane Cove, but a new clubhouse will bring our community together around our shared passion for local sport,” Mr Yung said.
“The new clubhouse will feature changerooms appropriate for young women and girls, which is essential given the growth in female participation, across all sports.”
“Our picturesque part of Sydney is growing but has been ignored by Labor when it comes to ensuring there is community infrastructure to meet future needs.”
“This is an active and engaged community which deserves first rate facilities, such as a new clubhouse for Blackman Park.”
This commitment is part of the Liberals’ plan to get Australia back on track.
