New clubhouse for the Gerringong Surf Lifesaving Club

Monday, 02 May 2022
The Gerringong Surf Lifesaving Club will receive $5.5 million from a re-elected Morrison Government to rebuild the club and ensure it can cater to the needs of the growing local community.
Liberal Candidate for Gilmore, Andrew Constance, said the Club had experienced serious growth recently with more Australians choosing to make the region their home.
“Gerringong has 280 registered nippers and more than 100 patrolling members, and the new clubhouse will help to accommodate Surfing NSW activities and the Club’s many members,” Mr Constance said
“Built in the 1970s, the Club house is due for a serious upgrade. The current design does not allow a proper view of the beach, particularly the inner shore gutter and permanent rip to the south. This is extremely dangerous when poor conditions force the patrol into the clubhouse.
“This upgrade will allow a proper view of the beach and provide more storage. If elected, I will ensure the local community has a Surf Club that meets its needs.
“These upgrades are also about ensuring our local community and visitors to the region can feel safe when they’re enjoying Gerringong’s great beaches.”
The Morrison Government’s strong economic management allows us to support community needs across Gilmore and invest in local infrastructure and amenities.
Andrew Constance will be a strong advocate for Gilmore businesses and residents, delivering the benefits of a strong economy.
Only the Morrison Government has a plan to deliver a strong economy and stronger future for Gilmore.
