$2.5 Million For Library And Arts Hall Upgrades In Bennelong

Wednesday, 18 May 2022
A re-elected Morrison Government will invest $2.5 million to upgrade Eastwood Library and North Ryde School of Arts Hall.

Eastwood Library will receive $1.5 million for a significant expansion of the building, including the creation of a second level with lift access. This will allow the Library to offer more community services, events and increase its operating hours.

North Ryde School of Arts Hall will receive $1 million to upgrade its existing stage to allow for larger performances, install state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment, and upgrade its dressing room with new furniture and carpet.

Liberal Candidate for Bennelong, Simon Kennedy, welcomed the funding and said upgrades to the much-loved community facilities would benefit the local Bennelong community.

“Arts and literature are an important part of our diverse community, and this announcement shows the Morrison Government’s commitment to our region and the interests of locals,” Mr Kennedy said.

“As a local Federal representative, I intend to fight for further funding to build the local infrastructure that Bennelong needs.

“This is an example of the type of local infrastructure we can invest in as a result of the Morrison Government’s strong economic plan.”

Only the Liberals have a plan to deliver a strong economy and a stronger future for the residents of Bennelong.
