An elected Dutton Liberal Government will commit $2 million to the construction and beautification of a piazza which will include an ANZAC Memorial at Our Lady of Lebanon Co-Cathedral in Harris Park.

The Piazza will be the main congregation area for parishioners, students at the Maronite College of the Holy Family, residents of the aged care centre, families attending the childcare centre, and visitors to its seniors’ room and coffee shop.

The previous Coalition Government made a commitment to support Our Lady of Lebanon Co-Cathedral to develop its new carpark building for which planning is underway.

Shadow Minister for Home Affairs and Shadow Minister for Cyber Security, Senator James Paterson, said that a Dutton Liberal Government will continue to support Our Lady of Lebanon Co-Cathedral because of its role in building a stronger community in Harris Park and the suburbs surrounding the Parramatta CBD.

“The Liberals are pleased to be again committing our support for Our Lady of Lebanon Co-Cathedral because of the historic and ongoing contribution of the Maronite community to strengthening the social fabric of Australia,” Senator Paterson said.

“I also want to thank Katie Mullens for her advocacy on behalf of this incredible parish and for making this commitment possible.

Liberal candidate for Parramatta, Katie Mullens, said this commitment will connect the parish and the entire community with the services and supports provided at the Co-Cathedral.

“Our Maronite community do much to support those in need and this commitment will only increase access to the whole-of-life services which it provides,” Ms Mullens said.

This commitment is part of the Liberals plan to get Australia back on track.
