Small businesswoman, former speech pathologist and local mum, Dr Kylie von Muenster, will contest the seat of Coogee for the Liberal Party.

Raising her three kids with husband Stephen in the Coogee electorate, Kylie has been a committed volunteer with the Bronte Surf Life Saving Club, as an active patroller, helping with the Nippers program, and sitting on the Board of Management.

“I have always been passionate about our community, and protecting its unique character and wonderful liveability,” said Dr von Muenster.

“Getting involved in the Bronte SLSC, 12 years ago when my eldest daughter started Nippers, I have been really energised by the way this community supports each other and works together.”

“As someone who is in the ocean practically every day, I am passionate about our marine environment and keeping plastics out of our waterways. This is why I am so enthusiastic about running for the Perrottet Government, given its outstanding work to protect our oceans and beaches by banning single-use plastics.”

“Running to be a representative for this great part of Sydney in the Perrottet Government will give me the opportunity to ensure that our community has a strong representative fighting for the services and infrastructure we need.”

A former speech pathologist, Kylie has spent a lot of her life helping children develop their speech and language skills, and helping parents and teachers to better support these children. She worked at the Sydney Cochlear Implant Centre, specialising in helping children with a hearing loss develop listening and communication skills, and completing her doctorate in this field.

“I have spent most of my professional life working with people to ensure that they get whatever help they need. To me, that’s exactly what a local MP should be – someone who spends their time making other people’s lives better."

“I want to make sure that families continue to get cost of living support they need, and local businesses get the backing they need to deal with the current economic challenges. Working with my husband in our legal practice, I know how tough the past few years have been for businesses."

Over the last two years, Kylie has done further post-graduate study in City Planning at UNSW to better understand research and policy that makes cities liveable and environmentally sustainable.

“I want to help protect our beautiful environment for future generations and ensure that our kids have plenty of green spaces and community amenities. If elected, I will advocate for Coogee in the Perrottet Government, and deliver more support for local businesses and families, and more funding for local services and infrastructure."
