Thank you for signing our petition
Labor’s broken promises and wrong priorities mean you pay more!
After 100 days, the Chris Minns NSW Labor Government still can’t explain how they’re addressing the cost of living pressures faced by families, households and businesses.
Instead Labor is backflipping and breaking their election promises already – just as predicted.
Sign our petition to send a clear message to Labor that Chris Minns must take responsibility for the fact NSW households and families are paying the price for Labor’s broken promises.
BROKEN PROMISE
Active Kids, Creative Kids and First Lap
When questions were asked before the election about Labor’s plans to cut the Active Kids vouchers, Chris Minns denied them and promised to continue the vouchers.
Now, within three months of being elected, Chris Minns and Labor are cutting the vouchers, with 750,000 kids missing out.
With inflation and the cost of living rising, Labor is cutting support to families and breaking their promise, meaning you pay more.
BROKEN PROMISE
Banning Secret Rent Bidding
Labor promised to end secret rental bidding as a key part of their housing policy, saying they would take the pressure off renters.
Instead, under criticism from interest groups Chris Minns has backflipped on his policy, dumping it from his housing legislation in the Parliament.
BROKEN PROMISE
Public Servant Pay Rises
To keep the unions on side, Chris Minns promised pay rises for government workers. But he couldn’t say how much his policy would cost, and instead tried to say it wouldn’t cost the NSW Budget more.
Now, Chris Minns’ own Ministers have revealed the policy is estimated to cost $618 million in the next year alone, leaving a giant hole in the NSW Budget.
Labor is cutting household support, like the Active Kids vouchers, to instead give public servants pay rises. It is clear Labor will break promises to families in order to keep their promises to the Unions.
BROKEN PROMISE
No More Privatisation
Chris Minns said there would be no privatisation under Labor – but now this is yet another broken promise.
Less than three months after being elected, it has been revealed that Chris Minns has ordered his Ministers to find government land that can be sold off.
But unlike the previous Government’s asset recycling plans, Labor is not investing the money from the sale of government land to fund new assets or infrastructure.
BROKEN PROMISE
No Disruptions to Public Transport
On 22nd May, Labor’s Transport Minister said that public transport service cuts were not her plan. Yet within weeks she backflipped and said that there would be weekend disruptions for at least a year!
Labor is also trying to hide the fact that the majority of this maintainence backlog is a direct result of their Union mates’ industrial action. Once again, commuters are paying the price for Labor and the Unions.
BROKEN PROMISE
No More Industrial Action / Union Strikes
Chris Minns blamed the former Government for industrial action and claimed that he would end strikes.
But now some Unions aren’t happy about his pay rises for public servants.
But there’s more!
- Chris Minns promised to enshrine our State’s water assets in the Constitution, but left out critical infrastructure like Warragamba Dam.
- Labor has cancelled the Northern Beaches Tunnel project, and is considering cancelling the Sydney Metro line to Bankstown.
- Chris Minns promised immediate energy bill relief for thousands of households, but is yet to deliver a single dollar.
- Chris Minns promised to implement a cashless gaming trial by July 1, but has already missed his own deadline.
- Before the election Labor MPs promised to prevent offshore mining and exploration, but after the election Labor blocked the Liberals’ Bill to ban offshore mining and exploration.
And this is only the start…
Chris Minns and Labor are now flagging further cuts to cost of living programs, like the Regional Seniors Travel Card and Back to School vouchers.
