The NSW Liberals and Nationals have a plan to support families, back jobs and get NSW back to the top of the pack.

Under Kellie Sloane's leadership, the Liberals and Nationals are focused on practical cost of living relief, creating the conditions for businesses to invest and create jobs, and building the infrastructure our growing state needs.

While Labor is delivering higher taxes, a weaker economy and less ambition for our future, the NSW Liberals and Nationals have a clear plan to help families get ahead and stay ahead, grow the economy and build a stronger NSW.

Leader of the Opposition Kellie Sloane said after three years of Labor, families and businesses were paying the price for poor economic management.

"Families are working harder than ever but finding it harder to get ahead," Ms Sloane said.

"Businesses are closing at record rates, economic growth has fallen to the lowest in the nation and people are paying more for less.

"New South Wales should be leading Australia, not falling behind."

Leader of the NSW Nationals Gurmesh Singh said today’s Budget Reply offered a clear alternative to Labor's approach.

"Labor's answer to every challenge is higher taxes and bigger government," Mr Singh said.

"We believe the future success of New South Wales lies with families, workers and businesses, not a larger bureaucracy."

Shadow Treasurer Scott Farlow said a stronger economy was essential to delivering better outcomes for families.

"You cannot have strong public services without a strong economy," Mr Farlow said.

"Our plan backs the businesses that create jobs and generate the economic growth that funds the services communities rely on."

A Sloane Liberal and Nationals Government will deliver practical cost of living relief that puts money back into household budgets. We will:

  • Deliver a $100 car registration rebate.
  • Put downward pressure on household and business power bills by increasing energy supply, improving energy security and generating more power closer to where it is used, reducing reliance on costly transmission infrastructure.
  • Restore the Regional Seniors Travel Card so the most vulnerable members of our communities are not left without the support they deserve.

Unlike Labor we have a plan to get our economy growing again by creating the most competitive payroll tax regime for businesses of any Australian State. We will:

  • Raise the annual payroll tax threshold from $1.2 million to $1.5 million.
  • Lower the payroll tax rate from 5.45% to 4.75% for businesses with a total Australian payroll below $10 million.
  • Introduce CPI indexation to both thresholds to eliminate bracket creep.

Under Labor, NSW is not getting its fair share of GST and infrastructure funding from the Federal Government. This means less money to invest in critical infrastructure, hospitals and schools. We will:

  • Negotiate a new Western Sydney City Deal. A long-term plan to deliver the infrastructure our growing city needs.
  • Continue building Metros by progressing a Metro for South Western Sydney.
  • Introduce a Regional Infrastructure Guarantee to ensure at least 25% of new infrastructure spending is in regional NSW.

This is a practical plan to help families get ahead and stay ahead, support businesses to grow and create jobs, and build a stronger future for NSW.
