An elected Dutton Liberal Government has committed $600,000 for lighting upgrades at North Dalton Park in Towradgi.
The North Dalton Park Trust has called for these essential upgrades as the community-based custodian of Wollongong’s premier sporting oval.
Liberal candidate for Cunningham, Amanda Ivaneza, said the lighting system at North Dalton Park is no longer fit for purpose and this is limiting the potential of the venue and our sporting stars of the future.
“Upgrading the lighting to meet current standards will allow us to host local, state, national and even international matches, right here at North Dalton,” Ms Ivaneza said.
“These upgrades will ultimately promote greater participation in both AFL and cricket and create elite pathway opportunities in Wollongong.”
Senator for New South Wales, Dave Sharma, joined Amanda Ivaneza to make this announcement and praised Amanda’s commitment to the prosperity of the Illawarra.
“I’ve been impressed by Amanda’s drive and dedication to fighting for the Illawarra,” Senator Sharma said.
“She’s passionate about delivering for Wollongong and its northern suburbs and has been relentless in responding to the needs of her community.”
