Australians will be shocked today to learn that Housing Australia has become a hellhole of internal chaos, cultural dysfunction and bureaucratic paralysis.
Housing Australia, the agency responsible for administering Labor’s $10 billion Housing Australia Future Fund boondoggle, is emblematic of everything wrong with Labor on housing.
Labor’s Housing Australia can’t build new homes and is making the housing crisis worse. Labor is spending $60 billion on housing and so far has nothing to show for it.
The mess at Housing Australia was predictable. The Commonwealth should never have been in the business of buying houses, granting billions to industry mates, or insuring the children of billionaires’ mortgages.
The HAFF is now pink batts 2.0, a putrid waste of public funds and maladministration.
Labor is running a protection racket for Housing Australia by shunting them to the midnight slot at today’s Senate Estimates.
Labor is blocking scrutiny of a $10 billion taxpayer fund and the agency tasked with administering it. Labor should release Housing Australia from witness protection.
