Liberal candidates will fight for a strong economy and a stronger future

2 April 2022

Liberal candidates have been selected and endorsed across nine seats, where they will campaign on behalf of their communities to ensure that people and businesses are able to benefit from our strong economy.

A Pharmacy Guild of Australia executive, Dr Jerry Nockles, has been selected as the candidate for Eden-Monaro. Dr Nockles served in the Navy for 24 years, including service in the Persian Gulf War. He has dedicated his life to serving the community, in the military and in senior roles with international non-government organisations such as World Vision Australia and UNICEF Australia.

Local real estate agent and community volunteer, Courtney Nguyen, will campaign to make sure that Fowler’s multicultural community has a voice in Government.

Small businessman Wenjie Zhang will run in Grayndler to fight for a better deal for small business and more local employment opportunities.

Finance professional, Pradeep Pathi, was selected as the Greenway candidate. Member of the local church and community groups, Mr Pathi, is committed to advocating for small businesses and their economic recovery.

Liberal candidate for Hughes, Jenny Ware, is an accomplished senior legal executive in both the private and public sectors. An experienced legal professional and government director, Jenny has been a leader and an active participant in many community organisations, including her local pre-school and P&C, Sylvanvale Foundation and Sutherland Shire Softball Association.

Experienced finance executive, Vivek Singha, will be the candidate for McMahon. Vivek will be campaigning to protect the local quality of life and easing the cost of living pressures on local families.

Cr Katrina Wark, who will run in Newcastle, has served her community as a registered nurse and wants to deliver support that will help Novocastrians rebuild and recover from the impact of the COVID pandemic.

Small business owner, Maria Kovacic, will contest the seat of Parramatta. Co-founder of Western Sydney Women, member of the Women@Eels steering committee and non-executive director of the Franchise Council of Australia, Maria will be a strong community advocate in the Morrison Government.

Lawyer and women’s advocate, Katherine Deves, will be campaigning to win back the seat of Warringah to make sure that the local community has a representative focused on their needs.

NSW candidates will campaign to ensure that communities across the state benefit from the Morrison Government’s economic recovery plan - with a stronger economy and a more secure nation.

The Morrison Government’s Budget, unveiled this week, creates more jobs, provides record investment in essential services and helps keep our community safe. It delivers the next stage of the Government’s plan to build a strong economy and a stronger future, but it needs local champions like these to help make sure that communities have their needs represented in Government.

These candidates will work to ensure a stronger, more prosperous future for their communities in these uncertain times.
