Liberals commit to park and playground upgrades

An elected Dutton Liberal Government will commit $1.95 million to upgrade parks and playgrounds across Paterson.
This commitment will deliver much-needed upgrades across three locations:
- $850,000 to upgrade Pearson Park in Soldiers Point. The upgrades will include a new amenities block, refreshed playground equipment, improved parking and address water quality and erosion challenges.
- $800,000 to construct an inclusive playground for children of all abilities at Medowie Town Centre. The new Regional Playground will include modern safety features, shaded play areas, secure fencing, native landscaping, seating and picnic spaces.
- $300,000 for James Street Reserve in Morpeth. The upgrades will revitalise this long-neglected site, the only non-flood-affected parkland in Morpeth. The commitment will create a safe, welcoming and accessible park for local families.
Liberal candidate for Paterson, Laurance Antcliff, said these local parks and playgrounds are not just places to play – they’re places which bring our community together.
“These upgrades will give local families the quality public spaces they deserve, supporting active lifestyles and social connection across our region,” Mr Antcliff said
Senator for New South Wales, Senator Maria Kovacic, praised Laurence Antcliff for his advocacy on behalf of the local families who have felt taken for granted and ignored by Labor.
“Laurence is a young father who knows, firsthand, just how important access to quality outdoor facilities and spaces are for kids,” Senator Kovacic said.
“Given his track record in the building and construction industry, I know Laurence will fight to ensure these projects are prioritised and delivered for local families.”
This commitment is part of the Liberals’ plan to get Australia back on track.
