An elected Liberal Dutton Government will commit $120,000 to upgrade playspaces at parks in the Hawkesbury.
This commitment will deliver $70,000 for playspace upgrades at Bona Vista Park in Pitt Town, including the replacement of a damaged sunshade and the installation of a new sunshade.
This commitment will also deliver $50,000 for a refresh of the playspace at Governor Phillip Park in Windsor.
Liberal candidate for Macquarie, Mike Creed, said local parks and playgrounds are not just places to play – they are places which bring the Hawkesbury community together.
“I’ve heard from Hawkesbury locals that the playspaces at Bona Vista Park and Governor Phillip Park were both in desperate need of a refresh, “Mr Creed said.
“These upgrades will give local families the quality public spaces they deserve, supporting active lifestyles and social connection in the Hawkesbury.”
That’s why I’ve fought for funding to renew this important community space.” Shadow Minister for Communications and Shadow Minister for Western Sydney, Melissa McIntosh, praised Mike Creed for his advocacy on behalf of local families who have felt taken for granted and ignored by Labor.
“As a Hawkesbury City Councillor, Mike has a strong track record in delivering local projects, so I know how active he will be in ensuring that these projects are delivered,” Mrs McIntosh said.
“An elected Liberal Dutton Government will ensure the Hawkesbury doesn’t miss out on funding opportunities for important community assets.”
This commitment is part of the Liberals’ plan to get Australia back on track.
