An elected Dutton Liberal Government will commit $600,000 to upgrade the Chatswood Rotary War Memorial Athletics Field in Lane Cove North – home of UTS Norths and the Northern Suburbs Little Athletics Centre.
The upgrade will include the installation of a 400-metre competition-level tartan athletics track and long jump pit.
Liberal candidate for Bennelong, Scott Yung, said a tartan track is desperately needed to ensure the safety of local athletes young and old.
“This commitment to upgrade Rotary Athletics Field will our community has year-round access to a first-class track for training and competition,” Mr Yung said.
“This commitment will not only promote participation in athletics and an active lifestyle but will also bring our community together.”
Shadow Minister for Child Protection and the Prevention of Family Violence and Shadow Minister for Indigenous Health Services, Senator Kerrynne Liddle, praised Scott Yung for his preparedness to fight for the needs of his community in Bennelong.
“Scott won’t ignore the masterplan for Rotary Athletics Field – which has only collected dust by the Albanese Labor Government – he will deliver,” Senator Liddle said.
“This commitment reflects Scott’s determination to deliver for Bennelong.”
This commitment is part of the Liberals plan to get Australia back on track.
