Shadow Minister for Jobs, Industry, Innovation, Science and Technology
Shadow Minister for Jobs, Industry, Innovation, Science and Technology Mark Coure MP has slammed the Minns Labor Government’s latest media stunt, calling the so-called Investment Delivery Authority another bureaucratic announcement without a single dollar of real investment or a single job created.
“The Minns Government is quick to issue glossy press releases, but slow to deliver results,” Mr Coure said. “Labor’s announcement of $136 billion in ‘potential’ projects is nothing more than smoke and mirrors and not one of these projects has been approved, funded or started.”
Mr Coure said the Government’s record speaks for itself: business confidence has dropped, planning approvals have slowed to a crawl, and red tape continues to strangle investment across the state.
“Chris Minns is bragging about paperwork, not progress. Businesses don’t need another authority. They need faster approvals, lower taxes and real support to get projects moving,” Mr Coure said.
“Labor has created more bureaucracy, not more jobs. Meanwhile, NSW families are paying more in taxes, tolls and everyday costs, while waiting years for projects that never get off the ground.”
The Minns Labor Government claims the new IDA will ‘fast-track’ projects, but since taking office, Labor has scrapped business incentive programs, slashed funding for key infrastructure projects, and failed to deliver on its promises to support manufacturing and innovation.
“Labor’s track record is clear - they talk big on investment but deliver nothing for local industry, jobs or small business,” Mr Coure said. “We need a government that backs industry, manufacturers and innovation - not one that builds more committees.”
Mr Coure said the NSW Liberals and Nationals will continue to stand up for practical measures that actually drive growth and jobs, cutting red tape and supporting local manufacturing and innovation across NSW.
“NSW deserves a government focused on delivery, not delay. This is just another Minns Labor headline with no substance behind it,” Mr Coure said.
