Mohit Kumar selected to contest Riverstone
NSW Police Sergeant Prosecutor, Mohit Kumar, has been preselected by Liberal Party Members to contest the seat of Riverstone for the Perrottet Government.
Mohit and his wife Jennifer have been raising their two sons in the Riverstone electorate for more than 14 years, where he has a strong record of community involvement, including serving as the President of the Schofields Cricket Club, White Ribbon Ambassador, Board member of the Sydney Health Partners, member of the Family and Consumer Council of the Sydney Children's Hospitals Network, and former President of the Council of Indian Australians.
Having served in the NSW Police for more than 19 years and the recipient of the National Police Service Medal (2020), National Police Medal (2020) and the NSW Police Service Medal for Ethical and Diligent Service (2018), Mohit is a firm believer in serving the community and fighting for the needs of others.
“I’ve been raised with a sense of civic duty to help others,” Mr Kumar said. “After arriving in Australia from India more than 25 years ago, I was embraced and supported, and was blessed with wonderful opportunities and career success, as well as my beautiful family.”
“As someone who has spent years working in the community as a member of the NSW Police Force and active member of several community groups and charities, I am very excited about this opportunity to serve and deliver more funding for local roads, green spaces for families and more infrastructure for the good people of the Riverstone electorate.”
“NSW has had an outstanding government for the last twelve years, and our community has been very fortunate to have someone like Kevin Conolly advocating for Riverstone inside the Government.”
“His hard work has delivered new schools, like Galungara PS, The Ponds HS and Riverbank PS, a new police station, TAFE and station upgrades, better roads and new bus routes for this community, and I’m whole-heartedly committed to continue and achieve more if elected.”
“There is an incredibly diverse community in Riverstone, and I am excited to campaign for an opportunity to represent them all. I will be a champion for our multicultural voices, and for getting more government services provided in a way that better supports our electorate.”
“Our community has been particularly hit hard by the current cost of living challenges, as local families try and make every dollar stretch to cover fuel, mortgages and food costs. What drives me - is finding solutions and I will be a strong advocate for the people of Riverstone in the Perrottet Government, to ensure that they get the support they need for their household budgets and stronger frontline services.”
Only the Perrottet Government has a plan to support NSW families by growing the economy and investing in our communities and the infrastructure and services that are needed.
