A re-elected Perrottet Government will deliver a new primary school for the growing Macquarie Park community.

Liberal candidate for Ryde, Jordan Lane, announced that a site has been set aside as part of the plans for the Mid-Town Macquarie Park development for a new, K-6 primary school built accommodating up to 700 students.

“We have a vibrant and welcoming community, and that is attracting more and more families to make their home here,” said Mr Lane. “But that growth means that we need additional infrastructure and services to accommodate the growing number of families joining our community, and only the Perrottet Government can deliver the new and upgraded schools the Ryde community deserves.”

“A new primary school for Macquarie Park is another good example of the Liberal investment in the future of our local communities, due to the Perrottet Government’s strong economic management.”

This new primary school is in addition to the fully funded Macquarie Park Education Campus project, which will deliver a new primary school and a new high school as part of the Lachlan’s Line development.

This investment in the bright future of kids across Ryde comes in addition to the delivery of upgrades at Denistone East Public School and West Ryde Public School, the redevelopment of Kent Road Public School, the relocation of Marsden High School and Meadowbank Public School to new facilities at the Meadowbank Education and Employment Precinct and the new Smalls Road Public School – all delivered in this term of government.

Minister for Education and Early Learning Sarah Mitchell said our record of delivery is proof the community can trust us to continue investing in schools.

“I am thrilled to see yet another project funded by this Government progressing, with the growing community of Macquarie Park set to benefit from a brand new primary school,” said Ms Mitchell.

Funding for the new primary school in Macquarie Park was secured in the 2022/23 NSW Budget along with funding to redevelop Melrose Park Public School. The project at Melrose Park will also consider inclusion of new high school, identified through the planning process.

These projects form part of an $8.6 billion investment in school infrastructure over the next four years, supporting delivering of 160 new and upgraded schools. This builds on the more than $9.1 billion invested since 2017, a program of $17.7 billion in public education infrastructure.
