The NSW Government has extended hotel and club trading times for major events over the next 12 months to help boost hospitality businesses after a tough year for the industry.
Minister for Customer Service Victor Dominello said the extended trading will give the public more time to enjoy major sports and arts events at venues across the State.
“Many hotels are restricted to standard Sunday 10pm trading but these extensions during special events such as the Australian Open tennis, Vivid, the NRL Grand Final and the Coonamble Rodeo and Campdraft means they can open until midnight,” Mr Dominello said.
“The later Sunday trading times are another way the NSW Government can help the State’s hotels and clubs after what has been a very tough year.
“We want NSW residents to enjoy these special events but do so in a responsible, COVID safe way.
“We’ve all worked too hard together as a State to get where we are now to mess it up heading into summer.”
This follows a recent NSW Government announcement that from January 2021 NSW residents will receive Dine & Discover NSW vouchers to the amount of $100 to use for dining and entertainment to help support local businesses and jobs.
These trading extensions do not affect any last drinks, takeaway alcohol trading times, individual trading restrictions or other special conditions that apply to a venue’s liquor licence.
Venues already able to trade beyond the longer hours can trade as usual.
