Retirement of Kevin Conolly MP
Today I have received the sad news the Member for Riverstone, Kevin Conolly, is retiring from politics at the next election.
On behalf of the NSW Government and the NSW Liberal Party, I thank Kevin for what will be 12 years of exceptional service to the constituents of Riverstone.
Kevin first won the seat with an historic 70.2 per cent vote, reflecting his reputation as a highly respected and widely admired member of the Riverstone community.
Thanks to his advocacy, the NSW Liberals & Nationals Government has been able to deliver the world-class services and infrastructure the people of Riverstone deserve.
These include vastly improved transport services, with more bus services and the delivery of the groundbreaking Metro NorthWest, four new schools (and upgrades to many more) and the transformation of Blacktown Hospital and the upgrading of Mount Druitt Hospital.
As well as representing his constituents, Kevin has served as a respected member of the Legislative Assembly Parliamentary Privilege and Ethics Committee since 2015, and he has brought his passion for education to his work as the Parliamentary Secretary for Education since 2019.
In addition to what will be 12 years in the NSW Parliament, Kevin also served as a Councillor and Deputy Mayor at Hawkesbury City Council, with his retirement next year bringing to an end an almost 25-year career of representative service to his community.
I look forward to Kevin’s ongoing contribution to the NSW Government in the lead up to the election and thank him for his support, advice and passionate service as a member of the NSW Government.
I wish Kevin, Cathie and their children all the very best in the next chapter of their lives.
