Robert Dwyer has been chosen as the Liberal candidate for the Port Macquarie by-election, and has pledged to continue Leslie Williams’ record of delivering for the region.

“Leslie Williams and the Liberal Party have a strong track record of delivering for Port Macquarie. From major infrastructure projects to environmental protections and record investment in our schools, hospitals to ensure people have access to services when needed,” Mr Dwyer said.

“As General Manager of Laurieton United Services Club and Kew Country Club, I’ve worked to support many local groups on homelessness, youth, and sports initiatives.”

“I am passionate about giving back - connection and collaboration helps build a thriving community, and the Port Macquarie electorate has been built on the great efforts of people committed to making this the best place to live and work.”

“Families, households and businesses across our region are feeling the pressure of rising costs – from groceries and electricity, to housing and healthcare.”

“I put up my hand to be a strong voice in the NSW Parliament and contribute to solving the problems people are currently facing.

Leader of the Opposition, Mark Speakman, said that Robert would be an excellent voice for the people of Port Macquarie and would bring a wealth of experience to the Liberal team.

“To have someone of Robert’s character and quality, who has given so much back to the people of Port Macquarie over many years is what makes our Liberal team so strong,” Mr Speakman said.

“I look forward to supporting Robert over the coming weeks as we talk to families and businesses about how the Minns Labor Government is letting down regional NSW down.”

“We need to restore good government in NSW, which focuses on communities across our vast state and puts people before vested interests,” Mr Speakman concluded.
