Our hearts ache for the family and friends of the little girl who lost her life outside Rouse Hill Public School. This tragedy will shake the community to its core.
We are thinking of her loved ones, her classmates and the teachers and parents who are mourning today.
Our deepest thanks go to the paramedics, police and hospital staff who acted with courage and compassion in the most heartbreaking circumstances. We also want to thank the Department of Education staff who are supporting the school community through this difficult time.
Leader of the Opposition Mark Speakman said an entire community grieves for a little girl who should have made it home safely.
“I want to thank the first responders, Department of Education staff and teachers who stepped up in the face of heartbreak. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and everyone in Rouse Hill touched by this loss,” Mr Speakman said.
Shadow Minister for Education Sarah Mitchell said this tragedy cuts deep into the heart of a community built on care, family and hope.
“I know the teachers, staff, and parents at Rouse Hill Public will wrap their arms around one another in the days ahead. We are thinking of them all and thanking the Department of Education staff who are offering strength and comfort during this painful time,” Ms Mitchell said.
Member for Kellyville Ray Williams said the people of Rouse Hill are like one big family, and today that family is hurting.
“I know this community; they look after one another when times are tough. My heartfelt thanks to the first responders and Department of Education staff who have been by the side of this school and its families. We are all holding this little girl’s loved ones in our hearts,” Mr Williams said.
