Housing Industry Association Apprentice Operations Manager Laurence Antcliff has been selected as the Liberal Candidate for Paterson.
Laurence grew up in Anna Bay and is now raising his family in Chisholm. He understands the pressures families are facing under the Albanese Labor Government and is committed to getting Paterson back on track.
“Our local community needs someone who understands the cost-of-living challenges, from rising grocery and electricity prices to skyrocketing mortgages and high interest rates, and someone who can deliver positive results rather than just talk about them. Labor have let our community down, and the only way to give households, families and businesses the support they need is by voting Liberal and getting our economy back on track,” Mr Antcliff said.
Laurence also understands the vital role industry plays in the Hunter, where he created hundreds of jobs for apprentices, provided them with mentoring, and helped more than 250 small and medium-sized construction businesses in the Hunter region and beyond over the past decade.
“Too many young people are forced to move away from our beautiful area for jobs, education and career opportunities. I’m passionate about creating these opportunities right here,” Mr Antcliff said.
“That can only happen with a strong economy that supports businesses and invests in education and training opportunities,” Mr Antcliff said.
“Only a Liberal Government will take the pressure off households by reigning in Labor’s inflationary spending and bringing the Budget under control.”
“Through my work I know first-hand just how difficult it has been for young Aussies to achieve the dream of buying their first home. That’s why I’m a strong advocate for the Liberals’ Super Home Buyer Scheme, which will help first home buyers access their own money for a deposit, bringing the dream of home-ownership closer.”
“With the support of my local community, I will work tirelessly to bring more jobs to our region and the investment in local roads, schools and hospitals we need to support families and households.”
“Only the Liberals have the proven track record of delivering lower interest rates and lower taxes, and the only way to get Paterson back on track is by voting Liberal”, Mr Antcliff concluded.
