NSW Budget 2021
RECOVERY AND REFORM TO TAKE THE PRESSURE OFF YOU AND YOUR FAMILY
The NSW Liberal Government will continue our gold-standard COVID-19 Recovery Plan, while delivering reform and relief to help families, support businesses and create jobs across NSW.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, we promised to keep NSW safe and keep the economy open. Just one year on from the deepest recession in 80 years, our economy is back to growth and there are more jobs than before the crisis - a testament to our world-class response, and the resilience of our people.
The 2021-22 NSW Budget takes the next step, looking beyond the pandemic to take our State from recovery to transformation, creating a better NSW for your family and your future.
We are investing to keep NSW COVID-safe and to keep our recovery going, investing in you with more support to ease the cost of living pressures for families, and transforming our State with real reform for the future.
- Record funding to connect communities and reduce congestion: a record $108.5 billion infrastructure pipeline, including 44 new and upgraded schools, Bradfield City Centre, Muswellbrook Bypass and Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital.
- Keeping NSW COVID-safe: a further $1.1 billion to keep NSW safe and manage the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Easing the cost of living pressures for families: a new $100 Water Babies swim-safe voucher so preschoolers can learn to swim, one of over 120 cost savings measures available to individuals and families.•Getting the budget back to surplus: strong financial management and responsible debt levels to return our budget to surplus by 2024-25, while still investing to support families and drive recovery.
- Stimulus to lock in the recovery: up to $300 in vouchers for NSW residents to encourage spending, including Dine & Discover, Thank God It’s Friday, and CBD Accommodation vouchers.
- Real reform for a better future: a nation-leading agenda to set up future generations for success, including phasing out motor vehicle stamp duty as electric vehicle take up increases, planning and tax reform to increase home ownership.
Our nation-leading pandemic response shows the value of strong financial and economic management from our Liberal Government.
The 2021-22 NSW Budget sets the stage for another decade of delivery for your family and your future. With so much more to do, the Liberal Government will keep our Budget and our economy strong, so we are ready for the next challenge, whenever it comes.
