Former police officer, teacher and a Coogee local, Carolyn Martin, has spent her life serving the community, and will seek to represent its needs as a member of Kellie Sloane’s Liberal team.

Married, with two children, Carolyn spent more than 20 years with the NSW Police Force, including as a Police Prosecutor, before going to work as a local schoolteacher. She has also been a volunteer Surf Life Saver with the Coogee SLSC for the past two decades.

Carolyn is now proudly serving the community as a Liberal Randwick City Councillor - fighting for better local facilities, clean beaches, improved shark safety measures, and safer roads.

“I have been raised to speak up and stand up for the community – my mum was the first female to be elected Randwick Mayor, and she instilled in me a strong sense of responsibility for the welfare of the community.”

“Every day I speak with people across our community struggling to pay their bills, and no matter how hard they work they feel like they’re just getting into more financial strife,” Ms Martin said. “Life under this Labor Government is becoming more expensive and more difficult, and we just cannot afford another four years like this.”

“If elected, I will be a tireless advocate for cost of living support that helps families get ahead and stay ahead, instead of staying awake every night wondering which bill will end up breaking the family budget.
“Our small businesses are also doing it tough, facing higher costs and worried consumers, with thousands being forced to lay off staff or close their doors. Only the Liberals have the plan for the most competitive payroll tax regime in Australia that will support businesses to grow and create jobs, and build a stronger future for NSW.”

As a member of Kellie Sloane’s Liberal team, Carolyn will be a champion for Coogee’s families, environment and small businesses – she will fight to protect our unique lifestyle, to deliver cost of living support and to safeguard local jobs.
