The former Member for Robertson, Lucy Wicks, has been selected by local Liberal members to stand up for the community and give them a strong voice in Canberra again.

Lucy has been incredibly passionate about the Central Coast and creating a better future for the Coast, having successfully delivered as the former Member infrastructure upgrades, better services and a strong local economy.

With a deep, long-standing connection to the Robertson community, forged growing up in Point Clare and attending high school at Narara, Lucy has always been a strong advocate for the Coast.

“From my first job in Gosford, to teaching high school in Narara, I have always believed that this is the best place to live and raise your kids. I am committed to giving back to the community that has been so supportive of our family – as a member of the local church community, Terrigal Surf Life Saving Club or the Terrigal Trojans Rugby Club,” Ms Wicks said.

Having worked with the community to deliver upgrades to 29 of the worst roads across the Coast, hundreds of new jobs for Gosford and the world-class Central Coast Clinical School and Research Institute.

“While Labor had promised so much to win Robertson, the Albanese Government has failed to deliver and let our community down,” said Ms Wicks.

“Our region deserves its voice back, after broken promises from Gordon Reid and Labor. I want to be that strong local voice for Robertson to advocate and fight for the better days ahead that people on the Coast deserve.”

Lucy’s tireless advocacy for the Coast made life easier for hard-working commuters with continuous mobile phone coverage and free Wi-Fi at 19 train stations from Wyong to Hornsby, ‘Health on the streets’ for people sleeping rough, the first culturally-appropriate rehabilitation facility for women ‘The Glen’, and protected the local environment by improving the water quality in Avoca Lagoon, funding Clean4Shore and stood up against the PEP-11 licence.

“As with the NorthConnex, only the Liberals can deliver for the Central Coast households and businesses,” said Ms Wicks. “Liberal Governments have kept our economy strong and our country secure, and we are ready to do it again and help the community to recover from the years of economic mismanagement by the Albanese Labor Government.”

“We need a Liberal Government that will rein in Labor’s inflation and bring the Budget under control to take the pressure off household budgets, helping local families struggling with the cost of living challenges - from rising grocery and electricity prices to skyrocketing mortgages and high interest rates.”

“Only the Liberals have the proven track record of delivering lower interest rates and lower taxes, and the only way to get Robertson back on track is by voting Liberal,” Ms Wicks concluded.
