An elected Dutton Coalition Government will invest $112.5 million to upgrade Terrigal Drive, delivering essential road infrastructure to improve safety, reduce congestion, and enhance transport efficiency in the Robertson electorate.
Leader of the Opposition, the Hon Peter Dutton MP, who was in Erina to announce these vital road upgrades, said this investment would be a game-changer for local residents, commuters, and businesses who have faced years of frustration due to delays and inaction under the Albanese Labor Government.
“The Coalition will get on with the job of fixing Terrigal Drive to duplicate sections of the single-lane road and deliver critical intersection upgrades to ensure it is safer for all road users, while also supporting local businesses and economic growth,” Mr Dutton said.
“The Albanese Labor Government has ignored the Central Coast. We want to make sure the Central Coast has the quality roads and infrastructure that it needs to get ahead – and that’s what this announcement is all about.”
Shadow Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development, Senator the Hon Bridget McKenzie, said the Albanese Government’s failure to invest in local roads had left the Central Coast behind.
“The Albanese Government has cancelled, cut and delayed more than $30 billion worth of infrastructure projects over the past three years, including putting a two year freeze in their first budget on delivering local road projects funded by the former Coalition Government,” Senator McKenzie said.
“Lucy Wicks and the Coalition will deliver on these commitments to ensure the people of Robertson and the broader Central Coast have safe and efficient roads.”
Liberal for Robertson, Ms Lucy Wicks, said this investment is a direct response to the concerns raised by the Robertson community.
“I’ve spoken with countless local residents who are fed up with congestion and dangerous road conditions. The Coalition has listened to the community and is stepping up to deliver this important funding where Labor has walked away,” Ms Wicks said.
“The people of Robertson have been continually let down by Labor. They deserve better.”
The Coalition will also deliver the stalled Central Coast Road Package, including the Ocean Beach Road & Rawson Road intersection upgrade in Woy Woy and Shelly Beach Road in Empire Bay, which have been delayed by the Albanese Labor Government over the past three years.
Only the Coalition has a plan to get Australia Back on Track – including here in Robertson – by delivering safer roads, reducing congestion, and ensuring the Central Coast receives the infrastructure it needs and deserves.
