NSW Budget
2022-23
SUPPORTING YOU NOW.
BUILDING A BRIGHTER FUTURE.
Helping you with the cost of living
Taking the pressure off your household budget with $7.2 billion of financial assistance, including up to $750 a year in toll relief, $600 a year to help with power bills and $150 back to school vouchers to support families. This builds on our existing support, like the active kids vouchers and support for seniors, so there’s more money in your pocket at the end of the week
Empowering women
Across Australia and the world, we see barriers and challenges for women, in the workplace, the community or at home. We must do better and that’s why we’re removing barriers to success and making our communities safer for women and girls. This includes $100 million for women’s safety, providing affordable and accessible childcare so women have a genuine choice to return to work, and investing $120 million in women’s health.
Responsible action to reduce emissions
NSW must play its part to reduce emissions. That’s why we’re taking meaningful decisions to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 in a responsible way for our environment and for NSW families and businesses. We are supporting private sector investment in renewable energy, fast-tracking our Electricity Infrastructure Roadmap and improving our national parks and local environments.
Building better infrastructure to make your life easier
Better infrastructure means better local communities with new and upgraded schools and hospitals. And we’re upgrading local roads, rail and highways including building the Western Harbour Tunnel, extending the M6, upgrading the Great Western Highway and building a Metro network for Sydney, so you can spend less time travelling and more time doing the things that matter most.
Delivering better healthcare
The pandemic has shown us more than ever the importance of local, quality healthcare. We’re building on our record of health investments with better pay for frontline workers, 10,000 extra health workers, 30 new ambulance stations across NSW and building or upgrading 45 hospitals that local communities rely on. This will make sure there’s help at hand when you need it most and our health workers have the support and recognition they deserve.
Better education to create better futures
A great education gives our children better futures. We’re investing in their future with new universal pre-kindergarten, including $280 million to support early childhood educators, making pre-school and long day care more affordable and building better learning environments with 23 new or upgraded schools.
The NSW Liberal Government is supporting families, households and businesses with the challenges they face now, and investing to create a brighter future for NSW.
Our Liberal Government is supporting families, households and businesses, and together we’re creating a brighter future for NSW.
