An elected Dutton Liberal Government has committed to delivering $5 million in upgrades to the St Rafqa Community Centre in Austral.

This project will directly benefit the growing Maronite community in Sydney’s southwest.

Sam Kayal, Liberal candidate for Werriwa, said that this commitment will deliver a new community and childcare centre in Austral.

“The southwest is a vibrant and growing part of Sydney which deserves facilities that bring our community together and unlock its potential as an economic powerhouse,” Mr Kayal said.

“This commitment seeks to meet the needs of our community in the here and now but will also provide access to local families for generations to come.”

Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs, David Coleman, thanked Sam Kayal for his advocacy on behalf of the St Rafqa community.

“Sam understands the needs and aspirations of the Maronite community,” Mr Coleman said.

“This commitment proves that Sam Kayal will be an effective representative of Sydney’s southwest,” Mr Coleman said.

This commitment is part of the Liberals’ plan to strengthen our local communities and to get Australia back on track.
