$360,000 to cut congestion in Ash Road, Prestons
Sam Kayal
Liberal for Werriwa
An elected Dutton Liberal Government will commit $360,000 to deliver traffic improvements at Ash Road, Prestons to address safety and congestion concerns in Werriwa.
Liberal for Werriwa, Sam Kayal said the intersection at Dalmeny Drive and Ash Road has long been a source of frustration for Prestons residents with unbearable traffic congestion during peak hours.
Safety concerns have only increased with the areas’ growing population,” Mr Kayal said.
“The poorly designed traffic islands results in cars backing up waiting at the Camden Valley Way lights and being restricted from entering the petrol station.”
“The road lacks the ability to enable a proper flow of traffic on and off the busy Camden Valley Way and in and out of the petrol station. Residents in particular have been left to navigate this bottleneck on a daily basis, enduring delays of up to 10 minutes in some instances.”
“It is time the issues with this roundabout were fixed and for the traffic island to be removed which will significantly ease congestion on local roads and enable a smoother flow of traffic in and around the area.”
The Albanese Labor Government has cancelled, cut and delayed more than $30 billion worth of infrastructure projects over the past three years, and damaged the economy through wasteful spending on the wrong priorities.
In contrast, the Liberals have been working with the people on the ground over the past three years and has a well-planned approach for getting road infrastructure projects back up and running across the country.
This commitment is part of the Liberals plan to strengthen our local communities and to get Australia back on track.
